Official Rules

1. Sponsor

The contest is sponsored by VALLIÈRE, 26 Hill Street, #503, Southampton, NY 11968 (jonathan@valliere.shop).

2. Contest period

The contest begins October 19, 2026 at 12:00 AM ET and ends November 30, 2026 at 11:59 PM ET. Entries must be posted, and fish must be caught, within the contest period.

3. Eligibility

Open to legal residents of the United States who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of VALLIÈRE and their immediate family members are not eligible. Void where prohibited.

4. How to enter

To enter, during the contest period, follow @valliere_fishing_apparel on Instagram and submit a photo of a tautog (blackfish) you caught using either method below:

1. Comment entry: post the photo as a comment on VALLIÈRE's official contest post; or
2. Post entry: post the photo or video to your own Instagram feed or reels, tag @valliere_fishing_apparel and include the hashtag #VALLIERETOG. Your account must be public for a post entry to be seen and judged.

In either case, the fish must be shown on a measuring board, tape measure or ruler, with the length clearly readable. Stories are not accepted.

You may enter as many times as you like, by either method. Only your longest qualifying fish will be judged, and each entrant can win only one prize.

5. Fish requirements

1. The fish must be caught by the entrant, by legal recreational means, in the waters of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland or Virginia, or adjacent federal waters.
2. The fish must be caught in full compliance with the fishing regulations of the state where it was caught, including seasons, licensing, size and possession limits.
3. Released fish are eligible and encouraged.
4. Photos must be unedited. Any photo that appears altered, staged or misrepresented will be disqualified.

6. Judging

The three winners are the three eligible entrants whose fish have the greatest total length (tip of the snout to the end of the tail), as shown in the entry photo and determined by VALLIÈRE. In the event of a tie, the entry posted first ranks higher. Before winners are confirmed, VALLIÈRE may ask finalists for the original, unedited photo or video, or for additional photos of the same fish. VALLIÈRE's decisions are final.

7. Prizes

Three (3) winners will each receive one Blackfish Montauk Edition embroidered hoodie, in the winner's choice of available sizes and colors. Approximate retail value: $165 each, $495 total. No cash or prize substitution, except that VALLIÈRE may substitute an item of equal or greater value. Prizes ship to U.S. addresses only. Winners are responsible for any taxes.

8. Winner notification

Winners will be announced on @valliere_fishing_apparel by December 3, 2026 and contacted by direct message from that account only. Each winner must respond within 72 hours with shipping details, or an alternate winner may be selected from the next longest eligible entry. VALLIÈRE will never ask for payment, a credit card or account passwords. Any message asking for these is not from us.

9. Use of entries

By entering, you confirm the photo is yours and that you have permission from anyone shown in it. You grant VALLIÈRE permission to repost, share and feature your entry, with credit to your account, on VALLIÈRE's social media, website and email, without compensation.

10. General

VALLIÈRE may disqualify any entry or entrant that violates these rules, tampers with the contest, or acts in an unsportsmanlike manner. VALLIÈRE may modify, suspend or cancel the contest if it cannot run as planned. By entering, entrants release VALLIÈRE from any liability connected with the contest or the prizes.

11. Instagram

This promotion is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram or Meta. By entering, entrants release Instagram and Meta from all liability. Questions about the contest should go to VALLIÈRE, not Instagram.
